Rev. John D. Young serves as the proud pastor of Saint James AME Church in Douglasville, Georgia. He brings a dynamic blend of faith, leadership, and innovation to this historic congregation. With over 15 years of ministry experience, Pastor Young is deeply committed to spiritual growth, community empowerment, and fostering meaningful connections within and beyond the church walls.

 

A native of Georgia, Rev. Young holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and Advertising and a Master’s degree in Divinity and Counseling. He combines his educational background with a passion for connecting traditional faith practices with contemporary needs, ensuring that the ministry at Saint James remains relevant, impactful, and Christ-centered.

 

Pastor Young is not only a dedicated leader at Saint James but also an accomplished author and sought-after conference speaker. His book, Innovative Church: Bringing Together the Physical and Digital, explores the intersection of faith and technology, offering practical strategies for churches to thrive in the modern world. Through workshops and conferences, Pastor Young shares his expertise on church leadership, generational engagement, and innovative ministry, inspiring leaders and congregations to embrace change while staying grounded in the Gospel.

 

Since being appointed pastor, Rev. Young has prioritized the church’s mission to be a beacon of hope, peace, joy, and love in the Douglasville community. His leadership is marked by a focus on spiritual excellence, engaging worship, and service-driven outreach.

 

Beyond the pulpit, Pastor Young is a dedicated husband to his wife, Chasity, and a loving father to their son, Israel. Together, they are passionate about building strong families and uplifting the community.
